The Rose Garden

Human beings are members of a whole,

In creation of one essence and soul.

If one member is afflicted with pain,

Other members uneasy will remain.

If you have no sympathy for human pain,

The name of human you cannot retain.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the self-determination and self-responsibility of each individual. If we have conflicts with each other, it is important to resolve them through non-violent communication. If we pass on responsibility for resolving of our conflicts to third parties, we lose our self-determination. Others decide what is right or wrong.

Mediation offers the opportunity to actively work on mutual solutions that will meet the needs of all parties in the conflict.

VIEW

I truly believe that there is a solution for every problem. To achieve this, I will be happy to support you during the process of finding it.

My attitude is unbiased, present and clear. I offer you an individual, secure and protected environment. In this setting you can deal constructively with your conflict. You can then identify the real interests that were hidden behind the obvious problem.

VISION

Conflicts are rarely viewed as helpful and beneficial. They are perceived as stressful and disruptive. If we succeed to “constructive” argue with each other, an agreement can be achieved through this dialog. Everyone can explain their own views and interests, and the conflict can be resolved. During the dialogue it is possible to learn more about the perspective of the other party.

During the mediation, a constructive debate in an open dialogue can be learned. This knowledge can be applied in future conflict situations.

BACKGROUND

I grew up in Lingen in northwestern Germany and studied in Düsseldorf. In 1992 I successfully achieved my Masters in the Social Psychology Department. During my studies and after graduation I worked in New York, Brazil and the Dominican Republic. Since 1995, I have divided my life between Germany and Egypt. In Sinai, I work in adult education and lead seminars, courses and coaching sessions in both English and German.

In 2013 I undertook advanced study of mediation (major in business mediation) at the University of Hagen. Since then, I have worked worldwide as a mediator. My focus, however, is on Europe and the Middle East. Here I am able to use my experience and knowledge of the cultures involved most effectively.
